Just some random thoughts if you are giving it a try...

Foods you want to get familiar with:
Coconut oil (May have to hit a Whole Foods or Health Food store for this or Amazon.com)
Coconut milk (in a can, full fat, look in Asian section of grocery store)
Coconut milk (in a carton, next to the other milks, look for Unsweetened, but Plain in a pinch)
Sweet Potatoes are your new favorite carb!
Avocados - a healthy fat!

If you are having sugar cravings, eat fats (such as coconut milk (can), coconut oil, avocado, eggs). It really helps! Eating fat does not make you fat! There is a lot of modern research on this. They were wrong in the 80s and 90s. Calories aren't that important.

You will be missing carbs, thinking it is impossible to not eat grains, it seems like this is crazy. The truth is after the initial cravings go away, you realize the carbs aren't what make you feel "full", and eating carbs/breads only makes you crave more carbs/breads. A perfect meal will be some protein, a couple of veggies and some sweet potato. Especially if you cook the protein and veggies in some good fats (such as coconut oil). You will feel so satisfied!
