E and I had the afternoon together while H was at school. We headed to Trader Joe's to do a little shopping. He loves pushing around the little cart and being in charge of picking up a few things. He is also a big fan of the sample table, but I have noticed that he has better manners there than some of the adults. :)
TJ's had a display of Brussel sprouts still on the stalk. He just HAD TO HAVE THESE. We have Brussel sprouts from time to time, but this was a whole new level of interest. He carried them around at home, showed them to his Dad when he came home from work, and helped me wash and pop them off the stalk. He even stood watch while I sauteed them with coconut oil and bacon and garlic.
So the hubby is not that fond of the Brussel sprouts. He will eat them, but it is not anything he would ever eat if I didn't put it in front of him. Knowing this, I picked up some ahi tuna steaks at TJ's that were in a pretty "clean" marinade. He LOVES ahi! Like Mary Poppin's said "A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down." Well, my paleo prescription is an Ahi Tuna Steak will make your hubby forget he is eating Brussel sprouts.
Also on the plate below is some freeze dried fruits. I just started using this brand of products a few weeks ago and plan to do a blog post after I have experimented a little more. These are peaches and blueberries. So far, my little girl (that is very picky about textures/temperatures) seems to love them and it is nice to have them on hand for a quick addition to a snack or a meal. They can easily be rehydrated in water, but my kids like to snack on them while they are crunchy, we just be sure to watch the serving sizes.
